Investing in an electric wheelchair can be a difficult task. It is about finding a model that suits your needs with an affordable price tag. This model, A3, is one developed to suit most of your needs without costing a fortune.

The A3 is a new electric wheelchair which is a pleasure to drive and easy to use/maintain. The wheelchair is controlled by means of a joystick that can go in all directions (right, left, back, forward). You can also turn on the spot without any problems. The driving range is up to 20 km per charge which makes it perfect for using it the whole day without the need to recharge it. A3 is dust and water resistant. If you run out of battery charge, you can just switch the wheels to manual mode (by simply turning the red knobs which are placed on the outside of the rear wheels in the center).

  1. Strong frame – Roughly twice as strong material compared to most common wheelchairs in the market.
  2. Backing signal (warns pedestrians behind you with sound).
  3. Anti-tipping wheels which counteracts tipping backwards in, for example, ramps.
  4. Intelligent electromagnetic brakes, 360 degree turning radius, can be maneuvered with one finger.
  5. Adjustable seat belt.
  6. Switch between manual and electric mode simply by turning the red knobs on the rear wheels.
  7. Thick and shock resistant rear wheels for easier driving on bumpy and gravel roads.
  8. Easy to get on to, folding armrests on both sides.
  9. 1 step folding
  10. Strong motors (2 x 250W) with a long range (up to 20 km, max 6 km/h).
  11. 5 adjustable speed settings for better control.
  12. Water and dust resistant
  13. 2 year warranty.

This model belongs to a new generation of electric wheelchairs focusing on simplicity and agility. When folded, it takes about 40% less volumetric space and it is easily accommodated in standard combi cars (dimensions when folded: h:73 x w:48 x d:80 cm).

A3 is our most popular foldable electrical wheelchair and it meets all EU legal requirements.

  9. Answered by the admin Hi, Swemed is a Swedish based company, therefore, the prices are added with Swedish VAT and since those rules of being VAT reliefed don't apply to Sweden, we can't exempt it. This product is still very price competetive and it is still a great buy in our opinion. The total cost can be seen in the checkout section after you've added the product to your basket. Yes, it does come assembled. There are a few small things needed to be done before using it but you won't need any tools at all. The things that you have to do before using it is: Unfold the wheelchair, attach the footrests and mount the joystick on the right or left side. But as mentioned, there is no need for tools.

    Kind regards,

  13. Answered by the admin

Yes. The controller can be placed on both sides by default. No need to buy any extra parts for it to be switched between the right/left side.

    Kind regards,

The battery can be charged without removing it. The charging port is placed right under the joystick.

Also good to know is that the battery can be easily removed if needed.

    Kind regards,

  15. Answered by the admin Hi, The electrical motors are quite powerful. So in terms of power, you will not be held back when pushing over herbs, doorsteps etc. The limit comes from the rest of the structure, like the footrests and anti tipping wheels on the back side. The limit would be steps around 5-6 centimeters. Kind regards, Oscar @ Swemed
